Interview with the Vampire

Posted: 12/22/2009

Starring: Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, & Kirsten Dunst

"Interview with the Vampire" is one of the best Vampire films to have EVER been made. Period. Tom Cruise is magnificent as the immortal "Brat Prince" Lestat and Brad Pitt is perfect as the eternally mournful Louis.

Bram Stoker's Dracula

Posted: 12/21/2009

Starring: Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, & Keanu Reeves

Vampires old school style is what you get with the 1992 adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula. The ramblings of a demented Irishman (Louis's words not mine) have spawned many a adaptation of his landmark work "Dracula" over the years. The best in my opinion, is this one.

The Lost Boys

Posted: 12/21/2009

Starring: Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patrick, & Cory Haim

80s awesomeness abounds! One of the most awesome Vampire films of all time (Okay, so most of these films are going to be declared awesome). You just can't beat movies from the 80s, I mean really, you can't.

From Dusk Til Dawn

Posted: 12/20/2009

Starring: George Clooney, Quentin Tarintino, & Harvey Keitel

This movie is a magnificent display of violence and weirdness and awesomeness. Its serious, spoofy, and comedic at times. And its very very rated R, as it should be.

Vampire in Brooklyn

Posted: 12/20/2009

Starring: Eddie Murphy, Angela Bassett, & Kadeem Hardison

The critics panned this - but who care what critics like? The people like it. I am one of those people who really really like it.

Fright Night

Posted: 12/20/2009

Starring: Chris Saradon, William Ragsdale, & Amanda Bearse

This has got to be the corniest most insanely well known vampire flick in history. I mean everyone cites it and talks about it and its really not that good. However, if you're a vampire film lover its a must watch - It's kind of the equivalent of "required reading".

Twilight Saga: New Moon

Posted: 12/20/2009

Starring: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, & Taylor Lautner

Abs and beautiful Native American men. Enough said. Ok I'll say more.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Posted: 12/20/2009

Starring: Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, & Luke Perry

I do believe this was my first introduction to the vampire film genre. I actually saw this when it came out in 1992. It was so cool.

Blade

Posted: 12/20/2009

Starring: Wesley Snipes, N'Bushe Wright, & Stephen Dorff

Blade hands down brought kick-ass to Vampires. This amazing Marvel comic adaptation tells the story of the Daywalker. A Half-Vampire, Half-Human who has made it his life's work to put down those vampires who get out of line...and they all get out of line.

Blade II

Posted: 12/20/2009

Starring: Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, & Ron Perlman

Directed by Guillermo Del Toro this film achieves something truly unique: it's inline with, yet totally unlike the first film. You get more of what you want in this movie, which is ass-kicking vampire awesomeness, but they didn't take the easy way out by simply giving us a repetition of the first film. This movie takes it up a notch and actually gets a little scary, well worth a look.
