Anne Rice
The tales that begin it all. The Vampire Chronicles. Anne Rice brought Vampires into the modern age and into most of our lives. She is the queen of Vampires and her books (especially the early ones) are among the best. Her vampires are perfect, beautiful, sensual, seductive, and yet...not at all interested in sex like today's vampires. Her unique vision of the Vampire is one worth experiencing.Posted: 12/23/2009

This is how you spell kick-ass: A-N-I-T-A B-L-A-K-E. She is so kick ass I cringe at times, the woman never lets up. She is a Re-animator by day (she raises zombies from the dead) and the official executioner for the state of Saint Louis by night. Oh and she's also the official liaison to the Saint Louis police department on all matters supernatural, especially those possibly concerning Vampires. These are books you don't want to miss.Posted: 12/22/2009

If you haven't seen the series, read the books. If you have seen the series, read the books. If you've read the books, read them again. I love Sookie Stackhouse. There's something about a hardworking-take-charge woman, who doesn't need to rely on anyone else to save her. That's Sookie.Posted: 12/21/2009

Victoria "Victory" Nelson was an excellent cop on the Toranto police force until she was sidelined with a medical condition. She becomes your everyday run of the mill private investigator until she meets a case with some inexplicable elements. That's when she meets Henry Fitzroy, Vampire. Vicki's life then takes a turn she doesn't expect. Check out this enjoyable early 90s series. I love the show and I love the books.Posted: 12/21/2009
Christopher Pike
This is a young adult series I read a long time ago. I had always liked Christopher Pike's novels for teens. They were always a little more grown-up than R.L Stine's books. On my quest for more vampire books I found "The Last Vampire". I was hooked immediately. Imagine my delight when I found out the series went on for a total of six books!Posted: 12/20/2009

Twilight. I'm not going to lie. I loved it. I loved the first book, I couldn't put it down. I hadn't felt this captured by a vampire novel for a long long time. It was simply intriguing.Posted: 12/20/2009
Kim Harrison
Witches! This books series is primarily about witches! How did I get involved in such a series? "Holidays are Hells" that's how. One of those adult horror/romance compilation books I bought from a thrift store. It featured a story by Kim Harrison about a teen-aged Rachel Morgan.[1]
